THE 52nd RUNNING OF THE ANNUAL HANCOCK REGATTA

Location: Hancock Marina, MCAS Cherry Point, NC and Neuse River
Eligibility: Any monohull sailing vessel. To compete and be scored, a vessel must possess a current PHRF rating except for single design boats.
Entry: A properly completed entry form, signed waiver of liability, and check for the $60.00 entry fee must be received at HYC no later than Friday, June 23rd. Late entries will be accepted until 8:30 AM, July 8th for a fee of $70.00. US Sailing members may deduct 10%. The Skipper’s Package includes a T-shirt, and two wristbands to Saturday dinner. Additional dinners will be sold for $12.00 each and shirts may be ordered with vessel and crew registration for $15.00. All racing vessels must be registered prior to 8:30 AM on July 8th. Go to the HYC web site www.hancockyachtclub.org and you will find the registration link under the annual regatta tab. All registration information is listed including electronic registration and a snail mail printable form that can be sent it to the PO Box listed on the form.
VERY IMPORTANT SECURITY NOTICE: Security requirements to enter all Federal Facilities including MCAS Cherry Point remain stringent. It is essential that all participants who have crew arriving by automobile or boat that do not have an appropriate government DoD I.D. be identified so security knows who will be on the base.
The participating skippers and crew members will be notified by June 15th regarding security protocols that will be in place for the 2017 regatta. This information will also be posted on the HYC web site as soon as it is available and crew registration can be done on the HYC web site under the annual regatta tab.

Skippers: Your registration will be part of the vessel registration. Skippers can add family visitors/crew to the crew list or have them register themselves.
Crew: Those who will or might crew on one of the sailing vessels can list their information on the HYC Web site under the regatta link on the regatta crew list page. Crew will be able to order meals and shirts when they sign up. Be sure to include those that are coming by boat so if they go off base they can get back on.
Note: It is better to put all “possible” crew/family members on the list early rather than try to add them later.
Race Classes: PHRF racing classes/splits will be determined. We plan to support Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker, and Cruising classes. Class breaks/splits will be finalized once registration is complete.

Friday, July 8th
3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Yachts arrival at Hancock Marina.
5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Free BBQ with burgers & dogs, beer, and soft drinks for all at the HYC Club House.
A limited number of slips are available on a first come-first served basis and those visiting on the end of the “T” pier should expect to have others raft outboard so we can accommodate as many boats as possible. Hail HYC on VHF Channel 68. A shuttle service will be provided for boats that must anchor in Hancock Creek.
Saturday, July 9th
7:30 – 8:30 AM – Late Registration and complimentary Continental Breakfast at the Lodge.
8:30 AM - Skipper’s Meeting at the Lodge.
10:55 AM - Racing sequence starts. At least two (2) races are scheduled.
5:00 PM (approximately) - Dinner at the Lodge
8:00 PM - Social at the HYC club house - (BYOB)
Sunday, July 10th
7:30 AM - Complementary continental breakfast at the Lodge
8:30 AM - Skipper’s Meeting at the Lodge
10:25 AM - Racing sequence starts. At least one (1) race is scheduled.
Awards Ceremony ASAP after the race completion and scoring (approx 3:00 PM)
